Sapphire Rings

What is it about Sapphire rings that seem so, well, royal? There are certain gemstones that have a romance about them. Whether reading about them or imagining them, let alone actually owning one, excitement is generated. This mystique accompanies rings created using one or more of the 'Big Four'. Diamond, Ruby, Emerald or Sapphire rings, all own a certain glamorous cache. Sapphire is one of the most sought after in the gemstone world. At Juwelo, our assortment of Sapphire rings is very impressive, tempting and accessible because of our affordable prices. There are designs made with Blue Sapphires, Pink Padparadscha Sapphires, Laos Blues and clear White Sapphires, Ceylon Pinks and Purples, Burmese and Ethiopian Blues, AAA Green Sapphires and more, always set in genuine gold and sterling silver settings. When you think of Sapphire rings, stand out images include the classic 12-carat blue oval Ceylon Sapphire, encircled with a halo of 14 solitaire Diamonds, set in 18-karat white gold. Of course, this is an iconic design reference to the engagement ring of the late Princess Diana. This size stone is very luxurious and rare. There are a garden of shapes, sizes, and colours to give you many options in obtaining your dream Sapphire rings.

Pink Sapphire

Padparadscha is part of the fancy Sapphire family, putting the lucky wearer of this pink Sapphire, in the pink. This the colour range of Padparadscha pink Sapphires goes from sunset pink to the pink of an opened guava to salmon pink. Professionally speaking, this variety is a saturated orange to orange-pink. Other types of pink Sapphires have hues ranging from lighter sides of red to purple, with weak to vivid colour saturation. Pink Sapphire Jewellery has fascinated for a very long time. Sapphire is a variety of the corundum mineral, made up from aluminium oxide. The trace amounts of chromium, iron, titanium, magnesium and copper cause of the different colour varieties. The deepest darkest pink/red corundum jumps from the Sapphire category and considered a Ruby.

Sapphire Jewellery

Sapphire jewellery is coveted for the deep and velvety colours of the gemstones. Inclusions are an interesting part of the gem´s story. Like Emerald, Sapphire tends to have a fair amount. Some inclusions are what cause a velvety look to the colour of some of the stones, which makes them highly sought after! Other needle-like inclusions cause the appearance and effect of Star Sapphires. Gemstone Jewellery and gemstones are a great lesson in the philosophy of "beauty in imperfection!" Our Sapphire jewellery ranges from very affordable pieces to the higher-priced collector's items.

Sapphire Necklace

The more intense the colour of a Sapphire, the higher the price. Bunches of smaller gems as well make for a luxurious Sapphire pendant necklace setting. You will see these designs in our Sapphire Necklace section featuring chains of sterling silver and gold. Some of the pendants are created with a floral design and some have more straight-lined geometric designs, both of which can be matched with companion pieces from the Sapphire rings, Sapphire bracelets, or Sapphire earrings sections of Sapphire jewellery.

Sapphire Earrings

At Juwelo, we have a sweet assortment of Sapphire earrings. Many of the designs match with rings and other pieces of Sapphire jewellery, allowing you to create a Sapphire jewellery set. The 2018 Fall runway shows showed lots of Gold hoops, mismatched earrings and statement pieces. Buy two pairs of Sapphire earrings and mix and match.  A solitaire stud with a hoop could work. Or just stick with the classics of beauty and fashion: a matching pair of Sapphire earrings and keep it simple!

Sapphire Bracelet

“Yes! I'll take a Sapphire bracelet if you please. In gold or sterling silver tennis bracelet style, please! Maybe with faceted round, square or oval gemstones? That way my gorgeous Laos Blues will sparkle from the movement of this very comfortable design. Not to be picky, but could they be real genuine gemstones set in genuine gold or sterling silver? I am quite sensitive and absolutely cannot be anywhere near nickel. Oh, Juwelo! This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship!”

Blue Sapphire

Blue is most people´s favourite colour worldwide. It makes sense since it is one of the primary colours appearing in nature (although scientists say, for the longest we could not actually see blue). Blue sky, blue seas, and blue oceans. Blues in flowers and, of course, blue gemstones! “Blue Sapphire”. Sounds like the title to a detective story. We recently listed a gorgeous blue Laos Sapphire 18k gold men's ring, with 35 round cut faceted main stones, surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, in an elongated star-shaped geometric-shaped setting.  Absolutely gorgeous! The colours of blue Sapphire variations truly run deep. Even within a single variety, there are colour variations. Burmese Blue Sapphires range from a deep midnight blue to a velvety dusk blue. The most desired blue Sapphire colours range between a velvety blue to a violaceous blue.

White Sapphire

Sapphire is part of the corundum family and is allochromatic. The gemstone's assorted hues come from naturally occurring elements including chromium, iron and titanium. White Sapphire and colourless Sapphires are the most valued when displaying extremely low traces of colour (grey, blue, yellow, brown).  The ranging from almost crystal clear to milky white, the clearer the stone, the more valuable it is. “White Sapphires” are, often used for accent stones. But larger stones have been utilized as the main stone, even in engagement rings. These are bought by gem lovers who know and love the difference between Diamond and Sapphire. Sapphire will always have a slight to very noticeable milky look. The crystal clear white Sapphires have been heat-treated and, although they fetch less than the natural untouched versions, are becoming more and more popular as affordable alternatives to Diamonds. Unlike Diamonds, white Sapphires are not scrutinized with a cut and grade system. It is the personal choice of the jeweller and buyer.
